Thoughtful guidance for the decisions, questions, and emotional experiences that come with becoming a donor.
This decision deserves
thoughtful consideration.
Choosing to become a donor can be incredibly meaningful.
It also brings important questions about your motivations, your future, your relationships, and the impact your decision may have over time.
Embra provides a space to explore those conversations with honesty, education, and thoughtful guidance.
We believe a psychological evaluation should do more than determine readiness. It should help you make a truly informed decision.
Your evaluation includes:
Throughout the evaluation, you’ll also receive psychoeducation designed to help you better understand the emotional, relational, and practical realities of becoming a gestational carrier.
Questions you might have in mind
Most donor evaluations take approximately 90 minutes and include a clinical interview, standardized psychological assessments completed live with your clinician, and comprehensive psychoeducation throughout the session.
Our evaluation looks at the whole person, not just a checklist. We’ll explore your personal history, motivations for donation, emotional well-being, support system, decision-making, and your understanding of both the immediate and long-term implications of becoming a donor.
After your evaluation, your clinician prepares a comprehensive report summarizing the assessment and any recommendations. With your authorization, the report is shared with your referring agency or clinic, who will use it as part of their overall screening process and discuss next steps with you.
That’s completely okay. The evaluation is designed to help you thoughtfully explore your decision, not pressure you into making one.
Whether you’re deciding if donation is right for you, preparing for a donation cycle, processing unexpected emotions, reflecting after donation, or revisiting your decision later in life, Journey Check-Ins provide a dedicated space for guidance, education, and support whenever you need it.
A dedicated space to pause, reflect, and navigate whatever your family-building journey brings, at any time.
Matching is one of the most important decisions in the family-building process. This structured check-in provides space to explore priorities, expectations, questions, and concerns before moving forward with a gestational carrier or donor match.
The weeks leading up to delivery often bring new questions, emotions, and decisions. This check-in helps intended parents and carriers emotionally prepare for communication, expectations, boundaries, and the transition surrounding birth and the postpartum period.
The end of a journey often marks the beginning of a new chapter. This check-in provides an opportunity to reflect on the experience, process the transition, explore evolving relationships, and consider what comes next for you and your family.
